Looney Bin News is a media-literacy project disguised as an investigative newspaper. It begins with verified facts and ends with conclusions those facts cannot support.

Every article is written with the professionalism of a major newspaper. Reporters cite public records, corporate filings, historical events, expert interviews, and statistics. The journalism appears rigorous and credible until the investigation slowly veers into complete nonsense, never breaking its serious tone.

Misinformation does not always begin with an invented claim. Real facts can be selected to exclude competing evidence, stripped of context, joined through coincidence, and presented as proof of a conclusion they do not justify. The humor comes from making that machinery visible. The target is the reasoning, not the people caught beneath it.

The publication’s name describes the place where unsupported narratives are filed after the evidence has stopped carrying them. It is not an invitation to mock mental illness, disability, or people in crisis.

Why publish it?

To make readers laugh, then recognize the technique when the stakes are real. A source can be authentic, a statistic can be accurate, and a quotation can be exact while the story connecting them remains fundamentally dishonest. The question is never only “Is this fact true?” It is also “Does this fact justify the conclusion?”
